Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 2014, at Collier-Butler Chapel for Harry R. Howell, 61, Gadsden, who passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014. Burial will be at Mount Lookout Cemetery, Tabor Road, Gadsden. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.
Mr. Howell was born May 22, 1952. He graduated from Etowah High School in 1970 and Etowah Technical School in 1972. He worked for Gadsden Republic Steel for 23 years.
He was preceded in death by his son, Patrick Howell; parents, Lonnie and Janie Means Howell; and brothers, Edgar, George, J.O. and Hoss Howell.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Phyllis Todd Howell; and daughter, Kaley Howell Teague; and son-in-law, William Teague.
The family requests no flowers. Memorials may be made to Fairview United Methodist Church, 230 County Road 26, Centre, AL 35960.
The family will accept friends at the funeral home from 1:30 to 3:30 Saturday before the service.
