Haskell Jenkins

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Haskell Jenkins, age 83 of Southside, who passed away March 11, 2015 with his family by his side.. Rev. Mike Hooks will officiate. Burial will be at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.

Mr. Jenkins was born July 21, 1931. He was a proud veteran, who served in the Army as well as the Navy, and was a true hero to our county and anyone who knew him. He was an avid Alabama fan, who loved to watch the games with his family. He was a talented musician as well as a man of God and would often play his guitar in churches and nursing homes, spreading the word of God. He was an amazing husband, father, and pawpaw who loved his family unconditionally.

He was preceded in death by his daughters, Diane, Carol, and Lesley; grandchild, Mandy; and great-grandchild, Jalin.

Mr. Jenkins is survived by his wife of 60 years, Myra Jenkins; son, Jeff Jenkins; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

The family will accept friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Saturday, March 14, 2015 at the funeral home.
