
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Hazel Inez Smith Haynie, 94, who passed away Thursday, March 21, 2013. Burial will be at Smith’s Chapel Cemetery. Rev. Scott Haynie will officiate. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.
Mrs. Haynie graduated from Sardis High School in 1936. She loved fishing and sports, never missing children’s games. She was very attentive to her family and loved cooking for them. She was a member of Smith’s Chapel Methodist Church.
Mrs. Haynie was preceded in death by her husband, Haskell Haynie; sons: Joe and David Haynie; parents, Rosco and Alma Smith; sisters: Ruby Mashburn, and June Smith; brothers: Neal Smith, Durwood Smith, Elmo Smith, and Junior Smith.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Dood) Palmer; sons: Jerry Haynie, Kennith (Sheila) Haynie; daughter-in-law, Tina Russell; grandchildren: Bobo Ford, Brandy Haynie, Hayden Haynie, Hayley Haynie, Perry Campbell, Darren Campbell, Todd Haynie, Jennifer Thornton, Shanna Holloway, Brittney Haynie, Alan Haynie, Kendra Haynie, Lance Haynie, and Josh Russell; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Jane (Cotton) Alexander, and Martha (Clifton) Pounds; brother, Jack (Robbie) Smith; special friends: Gary and Peggy Richards, Sally McIntosh, and Michael Fay; and a host of in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2013 at the funeral home.
