Helen E. Shaw

Shaw, Helen Eugenia, age 94, died on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at her residence, John Knox Manor Health Care Facility, Montgomery, AL. She was formerly a resident of Wesley Gardens Methodist Home for the Aged, but before moving to Montgomery, her home was Gadsden, AL. She was preceded in death by her parents Eugene Bruce. and Julia Harrison Shaw and is survived by several cousins and their families.

Helen Shaw was an employee of the Federal Government having retired from Social Security Administration in Birmingham, AL. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church, Gadsden and a member of the Etowah County Republican Executive Committee. Helen enjoyed and was an active participant in the social activities of her church, Wesley Gardens and John Knox Manor.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Forrest Cemetery, 700 So. 15th Street, Gadsden, AL. Visitation for family and friends will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Collier Butler Funeral Home, Gadsden, AL. Graveside services will follow at Forrest Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. with Reverends David Richardson and J. Thomas Randall officiating.
