In February I went to Bradford and Hal ended up being my roommate. We both got out around the same time and ever 3 to 4 days we would talk. He always called me to make sure I was staying in my program and to give me support. He was such a nice funny friendly person. I will miss you so much friend!

Hal was one of the most intelligent and hard working students we as accounting professors have had the pleasure of teaching.

We encouraged him to continue his education at our alma mater, the U of Alabama, because we knew he was highly intelligent and what an outstanding person he was and would be for whatever profession he chose.

He was a true Southern gentleman with impeccable manners and an ability to not only be a leader but to be a great addition to any team.

We are heartbroken beyond measure. A young man of faith, moral character and strong ethics all of us have lost a true star in the heavens.

We love you Hal and will see you again when we cross the river Jordan. Meanwhile, know that you will never be forgotten for the outstanding, polite, humble and joyous person you were: the stars shine brighter tonight because of you.

Our world is much darker but we only need look up to the heavens to know you are there and waiting for all those who loved you and you loved to join you one day.

We are very sorry for his family's loss: we know not why he ascended to be with our Lord, only that everything is in God's plan and.
God's hands and we know God has Hal in his hands tonight.

I knew Hal for a short time during the second week of February 2019.
We formed a bond in a short time, as he was affable, intelligent and quick to laugh and be friendly.
Hal was easy to get along with, participatory and quick witted - and accomplished in his profession.
All that knew him for that short time hoped the best for him in his Journey, and I personally was extremely saddened to learn of his passing.
All I know is he loved his family, had his struggles, and can now rest.
I hope and pray his Family and Friends can grieve and remember Hal in the best light, as sometimes the brightest lights are the shortest to shine, and maybe, just maybe - something positive can be learned or gained by someone else that struggles with their own brightness...
God Bless Hal, and God Bless all that loved him and truly knew him - I only caught a glimpse and my heart weeps still....

Hal was a student in my BUS 263 class at Gadsden State in Spring 2014. He was extremely bright, likeable, well-mannered, and full of enthusiasm. All of us in the Business and IT Division loved having him as a student. Prayers for his family.

I taught Hal at JSU. He was one of the most focused, kind, and respectful students I've ever had. He always helped other students when needed. He was also a founding member of our Beta Alpha Psi chapter. Our accounting faculty are all mourning with you.
