Ila Mae Kirkland

Ila Mae Kirkland was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. She was born December, 29, 1923. She loved the Lord and her family with all her heart, which was expressed as she used her last words to praise God and remind her family to trust God. She went to her eternal home April 23, 2015.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. J.V. Kirkland; daughters, Brenda Kay Kirkland, and Evon Kirkland; and son, Gary Brent Kirkland.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Leland) Minyard; sons, Larry Gene (Genise) Kirkland, Kenneth Jerome (Cindy) Kirkland and Jeremiah Vinson (Sharon) Kirkland; 14 grandchildren; more than 20 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. What a legacy she has left behind in which to pass down the torch!

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Collier-Butler Chapel. Pastor Doug Baker and Pastor J.L. Knight will officiate. Burial will be at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Southside.

Pallbearers will be family members.

The family will accept friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
