Born April 28, 1930 in Gadsden Alabama to Robert and Myrtle Riley, Iris was a life-long resident
of Glencoe, Alabama. Iris will always be remembered for her sweet smile and incredibly pure heart. Some may recall Iris’s 30+ years spent working for Sears and Roebuck, as well as her 10+ years spent working for Walmart. A devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Iris loved the simple things that are largely overlooked today, such as family, conversation, laughter and love. She was a member of North Glencoe Baptist Church.
Iris is survived by her daughters Olivia (Chuck) Wilson, Kim (Rodney) Lancaster, and son, Jeff Wagnon. Grandchildren: Wendy Phillips, Regina Starr, Bart Starr, Jonathan Wilson, Heath (Rosanna) Lancaster, Shane (Ryan) Lancaster, Derek (Deahna) Lancaster, Rachel Lancaster, Chris Wagnon, Corey Wagnon, Riley (Cody) Wooten, and Reece (Anna) Wagnon; 21 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her loving siblings Herbert (Phyllis) Riley, Lavon (Ellen) Riley, Gerald Riley, Jack (Jennie-Lou) Riley, and Kathy Hampton, as well as, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friend, Terry Jennings.
Iris was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Kenneth Wagnon; her parents, Robert Jackson Riley and Myrtle Entrekin Riley; brothers, Harold Riley and Elmer Riley; great-grandson, Cody Starr.
The family will accept flowers. Flowers should be delivered to Collier-Butler Funeral Home on the morning of Monday, August 03, 2020 by 11:00 am.
Burial for Mrs. Wagnon will take place on Monday, August 3, 2020 at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a service will not be held at this time. A private graveside time will be allowed for family.
