James Larry Dease

Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Collier-Butler Chapel for James Larry Dease, of Gadsden, who passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015. Pastor Richard Martin will officiate. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.

Mr. Dease was a graduate of Etowah High School. He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company after 35 years of service and was retired from the Air National Guard. He attended Alabama City Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, James William Dease; mother, Myrtis Irene Allmon; step-mother, Clara Roberson Dease; and uncle, Radford Greene.

Mr. Dease is survived by his wife, Beverly Dease; children, Brooke (Matt) Taylor, and Jonathan (Shasta) Dease; grandchildren, Ben, Emily and John Taylor, and Laura and Jacob Dease; aunt, Helen Greene; special relatives, Harvey and Delores Peek, and Sheila Witherspoon.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alabama City Methodist Church.

The family will accept friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service.
