

Funeral services will be Sunday, December 9, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel at Collier-Butler Funeral Home for Michael McClellan, 65, of Gadsden, who passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2012. Burial will be at Forrest Cemetery. Rev. Kenneth Patterson will officiate. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.
Mr. McClellan was a retired Sergeant of the Gadsden Police Department, where he worked for 24 years. He was a member of Carnes Baptist Church and an avid outdoorsman.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Hugh and Emma McClellan and sister: Lynette Whitt.
He is survived by his loving wife: Cheryl McClellan; daughter: Tammy McClellan (Bobby) Boles; grandson: Joshua Taylor Green; chosen grandson: Skyler Westberry; brother: Randy (Dot) McClellan; sisters: Jane (Randall) Battles, Melba (Larry) Jolly, and Mary “Lucy” McClellan; brother-in-laws: Terry (Judy) Gibbs and Ricky (Melinda) Browning; special friends: Robert Taylor and Roy Harbin; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Gadsden Police Department.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 8, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
