Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 17, 2014 at Collier-Butler Chapel for James “Dood” Palmer,75, of Gadsden, who passed away Thursday, November 13, 2014. Pastor Bruce Word will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.
Mr. Palmer was a Brick Mason and builder for more than50 years. He was also an antique car enthusiast.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Palmer; daughter, Kay Palmer; son, Gary (Pam) Palmer; step-sons, Perry (Tammy) Campbell, and Darren Campbell; grandchildren; Mindy (Mark) O’Bryant , Jaman Palmer, Nic Palmer, Blake Campbell, Amber Campbell, and Ian Campbell; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Mae Mayben; and sisters-in-law, Ava Palmer, and D.J. Palmer.
Pallbearers will be Jaman Palmer, Nic Palmer, Kenneth Haynie, Jerry Haynie, Blake Campbell, and Josh Palmer.
