
James Guyton Woodard, 75, passed away on May 16, 2026. He was from the Oak Grove Community and was known by many as a true jack of all trades. James spent his life working hard in many different fields, including mechanical work, pulpwood logging, tire repair, and countless other trades. If something needed fixing, James was often the person people called. He enjoyed staying busy and took pride in helping others however he could.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Merle George Woodard, and Francis Crowe Woodard; his sister, Donya Nations; his brothers, Merle Gary Woodard, William Bradford “Billy” Woodard.
James is survived by his sister, Wanda Daniels; brother, Huey D. Woodard, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 12:30 p.m. for family, and from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. for friends on Friday, May 22, 2026, at Collier-Butler Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. L. Dale Butler officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
