

.Funeral service will be 2:00pm Friday, December 30, 2016 at Collier-Butler Chapel for beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Jean Banks Morgan, age 87, who, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2016. Burial will be at Gum Springs Cemetery in Ashville, AL. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.
Mrs. Morgan was a native of Ashville and attended Gums Springs Baptist Church until her health failed. She served on the Rainbow City Beautification Board and was previous owner of Rainbow Ice Cream and Yogurt. Mrs. Morgan was a great cook.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Hayden Banks and Bill Morgan; brother, John Jester; sister, Evelyn Nabors; and parents, Marshall and Bertha Jester.
Mrs. Morgan is survived by her children, Jerry Banks of Rainbow City, Charlotte (Vince) Torregosa of Rainbow City, and Gail (David) Mashburn of Rainbow City; grandchildren, Shelley (Tom) Jackson of Hoover, Nicole (Bobby) Phakonekham of Owens Cross Roads, Megan (Justin) Morsch of Owens Cross Roads, Christina (Josh) Stovall of Ft. Payne, and Andrew Mashburn of Rainbow City; great-grandchildren, Olivia and Anna Kate Jackson of Hoover, Nicholas Phakonekham of Owens Cross Roads, Aidden Stovall of Ft. Payne, and Oliver Cole Morsch of Owens Cross Roads; brother, Lloyd Jester of Southside; sister-in-law, Norma Jester of Douglasville, GA; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 pm prior to the service.
