Jewell Alene Abernathy

Jewell Alene Abernathy, age 94, of Southside, AL passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2023. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Collier-Butler Chapel. Bro. Bill Drummons and Bro. Lauil Thompson will officiate. Burial will follow at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.

Jewell is preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Abernathy; parents, Jesse and Leanna Perkins; and siblings, Nellie Howle, Robert Perkins, J.C. Perkins, and Billy Perkins.

She is survived by her children, Harold (Olivia) Abernathy; Sarah (David) Morris, Peggy (the late Larry) Coker, Bobby Abernathy, and Barbara Abernathy; grandchildren, David (Lisa) Abernathy, Keith (Tracye) Abernathy, Scott (Glenda) Abernathy, Paul (Paula) Yancy, Barry Yancy, Swane (Jennifer) Morris, Brian (Staci) Coker, Tonya (Tim) Orr, Suzi (Dan) Stewart, Robert (Augusta) Abernathy, Jon (Misty) Abernathy, and Leslie Abernathy; great grandchildren, Austin (Blaise) Abernathy, Chase Abernathy, Peyton Abernathy, Jackson Abernathy, Madison Abernathy, Allison Abernathy, Kaleb Yancy, Major Yancy, Baylee (Caleb) Payne, Dixon Morris, Nick Britt, Jeremy Britt, Lyndsay McDaniel, Daulton Coker, Dantley (Madison) Coker, Emilee Coker, Gavin Orr, Garrett Orr, Gracie Orr, Drake (Abby) Stewart, Cami Stewart, Blake Douglas, Alex Mason, Ethan Abernathy, Vivi Abernathy, Eli Abernathy, Madison Abernathy, Tyler Abernathy, Kane Abernathy, Try Wilson, Alyssa Wilson, and Michaela Wilson; great-great grandchildren, Bentley Abernathy, Greyson Chappell, Briar Coker, Sloan Coker, Karter Abernathy, and Asher Abernathy; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews; and special friends, Becky Oglesby, Debra Farrell, Brownie Broughton, Lauil Thompson, Tommy Sewell, Bill Drummons, Jean Abernathy, and Geraldine Perkins.

The family accept friends from 10:00 AM until the hour of the service at the funeral home on Tuesday.
