

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017, at Collier-Butler Chapel for Jimmie Harold Chesnut, 82, Gadsden, who passed away Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017. Pastors Randy Gunter and Van Lockridge will officiate, with burial at Williams-Southside Memorial Park. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is in charge.
Jimmie was a Christian and loved the Lord. He was a devoted husband and father. He was in the Army Reserves and served at Fort Knox. He worked at Dixie Tool and Die for 34 years, giving it his all. He had an immense passion for Ford Model A cars.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alene Chesnut; brothers, Jack and Glenn Chesnut; and parents, Clarence and Edna Chesnut.
He is survived by his son, David Chesnut, Glencoe; daughter, Jane Chesnut Kah, Gadsden; son-in-law, Eddie Kah, Gadsden; sister, Ena (Charles) Combs, London, Kentucky; sister, Agnes (Jim) Andrew, New Carlisle, Ohio; and sister-in-law, Lynn Chesnut, Manchester, Kentucky.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Wayne Chesnut, Kevin Chesnut, Ronnie Chesnut, Keith Chesnut, Mark Weaver and Ricky Marbut.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Andrew, Bob Ford and Ken Garrett.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to your favorite charity.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Collier-Butler Funeral Home.
