

Funeral services will be Sunday, October 7, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church for Joan Brunson Collier, 70, of Gadsden, who died suddenly on Thursday, October 4, 2012. She will lie in state for one hour prior to the service. Rev. Roy Daugherty will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.
She is survived by her daughters: Debbie (Dan) Murphy, Daphne Collier, and Jackie (David) Collier; son: Jim (Vicki) Collier; grandchildren: Laura Breeden Davis, Jake and Josh Collier, Tara Collier, Dylan Collier, Julia Murphy, and Devin Taylor; great-grandchildren: Jamison Yates, Carter and Landon Davis, and Olivia McDowell; chosen children: Michelle Fortenberry and Michael Humphrey.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Leon Collier; parents: J.L. and Irene Brunson; son-in-law: Brian Breeden; and her adored granddaughter; Jessica Breeden.
Mother was a sweet loving person who never met a stranger. She was loved by everyone who knew her. She retired from The Holy Name of Jesus Medical Center.
Pallbearers will be James Davis, Shane Buchanan, Brent Niederbrach, Calvin Bishop, Jake Collier, Josh Collier, and Alec Harris.
Honorary pallbearers will be Riverview Medical Center, Dr. Kenny Smith, Dr. G. Patel, and Dr. George Robinson.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Collier Butler from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
