John Robert Dunn

Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at 2:00 in the chapel at Collier-Butler Funeral Home for John Robert Dunn, 88, of Glencoe. Chaplin Tim Sauccuci and Rev. Donnie Patterson will officiate and Greg Gilchrist will deliver a eulogy. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.

Mr. Dunn was born May 18, 1924 in Etowah County. He was retired from LTV Steele with 22 years of service. He owned and operated Dunn’s TV Repair Shop in Glencoe. He was a member of Glencoe First United Methodist Church. Mr. Dunn proudly served in the U.S. Navy in WWII.

He was preceded in death by his parents; John William and Vera Mae Dunn, brothers; Pelham Dunn and Ralph Dunn, sisters; Willie Lee Plott, Maurine Parker and Martha Wofford.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years Eva Dunn, Glencoe, AL, son; Fred Dunn, Harrison, TN, daughter; Debbie (Greg) Cobb, Glencoe, AL, granddaughter; Shea (Jamie) Poole, Wellington, AL, sister; Katherine Maynard and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Steve Wofford, Kenneth Maynard, G.B. Maynard, Tommy Hale, Ron Rooks and Perry Phillips. Honorary pallbearers will be Pete Payne, Tom Winborn, David Tidmore, Donald Quinn, Charles Eubanks and Jerry Dunn.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to care givers; Diane, Cindy, Molly, Nikki, Nicole and Dr. H.B. Thompson and staff.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 12, 2012 from12:00- 2:00 prior to service.
