The DSF Class of 1966, Henrico County, VA, expresses their deepest condolences to the family of our classmate, Steve Proffitt.

Steve and I grew up together as little boys what a joyous and wonderful person anyone could have ever known

I had the pleasure of working with Steve in bringing continuing education for Auctioneers to the National, Illinois and Wisconsin Auctioneers Association conferences.  He teased me about being from the "cold North," and I fondly called him my "Dixie Buddy."  My heart aches with his loss but I'm sure he knew it was best for him to go home to be with the Lord.  Blessings and comfort to his family.

The world has lost a true gentleman and I have lost a dear friend. A brilliant lawyer who happily shared his knowledge and expertise and one of the best story tellers I know.   My condolences to his family

Steve and I met at Missouri Auction School and stayed in contact on legal issues and funny stories.  He was a giant in the industry and a great lawyer-auctioneer. Above all he was a friend and an amazing story teller.

Steve was a great friend. I loved hanging out with him at auctioneer conventions. He always made everyone feel welcome and was always working on his stand up comedy routine.

Steve was a great mentor to all auctioneers,a true southern gentleman.I'll miss hearing about Junior.Love and prayers to the family
