

Reverend Johnny Roscoe Fry, 76, of Rainbow City, Alabama went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 18, 2024. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Collier-Butler Chapel. Rev. Jonathan Whisenant, Rev. Kenneth Lasseter and Rev. Joe Wise will officiate. Burial will follow at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Aroney, Alabama. Collier-Butler Funeral Home & Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Fry was born on August 16, 1947, in Rock Springs, (Glencoe) Alabama to Gladys and Roscoe Fry. He had resided in Rainbow City, Alabama for most of his life. He was a wonderful and deeply loved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and pastor. Mr. Fry enjoyed hunting, camping and watching his children and grandchildren's sports and band activities. (He rarely missed any of their games or competitions.) Rev. Fry was a lifelong member and the pastor of Harmony Baptist Church in Rainbow City, Alabama. He was called to preach in 1978 and served the Lord the rest of his life. Mr. Fry worked as a General Operator at Goodyear Tire and Rubber in Gadsden, Alabama for 33 years. He was a diligent and dedicated worker.
He was preceded in death by his parents Roscoe and Gladys Fry, loving wife of 54 years, Debbie Green Fry, brother Kenneth (Donna) Fry and brothers-in-law, Richard Betts and Bobby (Thelma) Woods.
Mr. Fry is survived by his children, David (Genia) Fry, Daryl (Wendy) Fry, Lisa Fry (Scotty) Chadwick, Steven (Christina) Fry; grandchildren, Dylan (Amber) Swindall, Jesse Fry, Baylon (Megan) Fry, Kaylee Fry (Bailey) Howard, Hayden Fry, Abby Terry, Cayden Fry, Summer Fry, Clayton Fry, Stella Fry and Dylan Chadwick; great grandchildren, Brycen Fry, Bristell Fry, Colt Swindall and Parker Howard; his sister, Janice Fry Betts and brother, Jerry (Marla) Fry and nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Pallbearers will be Dylan Swindall, Jesse Fry, Baylon Fry, Hayden Fry, Bailey Howard, McCain Gilbreath and Dylan Chadwick.
The family wishes to extend thanks to Dr. Manuel Espinoza-Gutarra and staff of UAB Kirkland Clinic and Dr. Luis Pineda and staff, Vestavia.
The family will accept flowers or donations may be made to the American Red Cross, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or the Spina Bifida Association of Alabama.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, January 21, 2024, from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the hour of the service at the funeral home.
