

Karen had a gift for making others feel loved, especially through her cooking. She was known for preparing wonderful meals and making holidays special for her family, even during times when she did not feel well. Her home was always a place of warmth and care. She was also a lifelong and devoted member of the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon (V.W.)and Catherine Boland; her sister, Janice Boland; and her in-laws, Henry and Christine Nash.
Karen is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, James (J.D.) Nash, who was not only her husband but her best friend and devoted caregiver for many years. She is also survived by her son, Brian Nash of Sandy Springs, Georgia; her daughter, Emily (Richard) Long of Glencoe, Alabama; her cherished grandson, Braxton Long; her brother, David (Linda) Boland; her special cousin, Judy Lancaster; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Braxton Long, Richie Long, Blake Boland, Jeff Boland, Daniel Nash, and Richard Dunn.
Special thanks to the nurses and technicians at DaVita Dialysis in Rainbow City, as well as the compassionate teams at Amedysis Home Health and Hospice. We are also deeply grateful to Dr. Ken Davenport for the exceptional care and kindness shown throughout this time.
Visitation will be held at Collier-Butler Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 17, from 10:30am - 12:30pm, followed by a brief service at 12:30pm. Burial will follow at Samuel’s Chapel Methodist Cemetery.
