Mrs. Kathleen “Granny” Donaldson, 82, of Gadsden passed away Saturday, August 4, 2018. Funeral Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Collier-Butler Funeral Chapel with burial to follow at Crestwood Cemetery. Rev. Darrell Brown will officiate.
Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services will direct.
Mrs. Donaldson was born in Double Springs, AL on June 12, 1936. She earned her degree from Jacksonville State University and University of Alabama and taught in the Etowah County School System for 35 years. She served as pianist for James Memorial and Calvary Baptist Church. Kathleen loved music, spending time with her family and painting.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Pearl Lovett and daughter, Linda D. Stewart.
Survivors include her husband, Ray Donaldson; daughters, Tammy Boatfield and Leesa (Marc) Paige; grandchildren, Kimberli (Darnell) McClure; Josh (Katie) Stewart and Cassie (Wes) Nail; great grandchildren, her “mini me”, Shaleigh Rae; Rilee Kathleen; Grayson; Austin; Lucas; Eva and Cooper; chosen son and daughter-in-law, Kerry and Amanda Minyard; chosen grands, Lexi, Linzie and Zac Satterfield.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Pallbearers will be Josh Stewart; Austin Adcock; Darnell McClure; Kerry Minyard; Zac Satterfield and Wes Nail.
Honorary Pallbearers are great grandchildren.
The family extends special thanks to the 9th floor MICU staff at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.
Visitation will be from 11:30 am until the hour of service at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home Tuesday.
