Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday at Rainbow Memorial Gardens for Mr. Lamar Eugene Norris (PeeWee), age82, Alabama City, who passed away Friday, February 11, 2011. Rev. L. Dale Butler will officiate. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services directing.
Mr. Norris retired from Republic Steel after 35 years. He was also a Veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Etoile (Dowdy) Norris; and his mother-in-law, Ellen W. Sizemore.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Christine Norris, Alabama City; son, David L. Charlton, Jr.; grandchildren, Lisa (Jamie) Nichols, David L. Charlton III, April (Clifton) Gross; great grandchildren, Austin Whittemore, Dakota Willis, Joshua Willis, Jakob Willis, Mikayla Willis, Justin Nichols, (Drayton Gross.)
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
The family would like to express a special tribute to the mother of our grandchildren, Charlotte (Ernie) Gamblin.
Visitation will be on Monday from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Collier-Butler Funeral Home.
