My fondest memories growing up were with the Pickles, sitting at their kitchen table ( Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner). We would be there for hours working through crosswords, while trying to make each other laugh, Pat would be showing off his latest project, Jamie and Justin would be cracking jokes, I was just happy to be there, and Laura would be overseeing the whole operation. Keeping us inline, but giving it out as well. She had the best laugh and smile.  

Laura always made me feel like part of the family with her warmth  and kindness.  She was a strong mother figure in my life, and taught me plenty about being a good person. 

My love to the Pickle family and friends.  

Laura and I met through our good buddy, Jan.  We all shared the love of children and teaching preschoolers.   We also had birds and the great outdoors in common.  Laura was that special someone that could make you laugh and a heart with true compassion.   We love you and will miss you dear friend. 

Thirty-eight years ago I met Laura walking across the rainbow baptist church parking lot as we were both there picking up our sons from preschool.  I had just moved to the south and was so happy to meet another northerner.  Laura always radiated joy and happiness and her love for the Lord. I am thankful for the friendship and support our families have for each other.  Laura will be missed here, but will forever be part of our lives.  Until we meet again Laura, love Deidre Diener and family.

Laura was an amazing sister-in-law.  She cared for her family and friends with Christian ferocity.

Dear family, the shock of Laura’s passing doesn’t seem real.  We are so sorry we cannot be with you at this time but know our hearts are with you.

My fondest memory of Laura was her wedding day.  She was a beautiful bride marrying the love of her life.  She never quit smiling.  And that smile lasted throughout her life.  Every time we would see her, she always greeted us with “that smile”!  I loved her across the many miles we were apart.



Laura was a encourager to me when I was in high school. She was a save place to land when I needed it so much. She also spoke strong words to me when I was a scared young mom. She has always held a special place in my heart even though that was decades ago. She was blessing to all that were lucky enough to be in her space. 

Laura was a huge blessing to us and to so many others. A gifted caring woman who touched many with the love of Jesus. She believed in Jesus as her Lord and savior and that truth impacted how she lived her life.  Her gift of faith is why she is doing better than we can imagine. See Rev  7:9ff.  We are praying for her family and the many others who loved her. May the message of Easter bring healing and peace.

I am so saddened to hear of Mrs. Pickle’s passing.  She was kind and generous, especially with her time with kids. She taught my confirmation class and also tutored me in 8th grade algebra. She was a wonderful teacher that was patient with her students and helped them when they struggled.  May God’s peace and comfort be with her family and loved ones in the days ahead. 

Laura and I started teaching early childhood education in 1996 together and continued the program for over 20 years. She was the first person parents would contact to enter the program and she had a heart of gold! She made sure every child had an opportunity for a quality education regardless of financial means often financing it herself. She started fundraisers to help the parents pay the tuition and help “the children that Jesus loved”. 
Laura was a true example of bringing people together through Jesus. 
She was my boss, mentor, and dear friend. Laura, you have left us with a huge hole to fill.
