Ms. Laura Antoinette Sutton

Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at Rainbow Presbyterian Church, 3220 Rainbow Drive, Rainbow City, AL 35906. Rev. Ray Tucker and Rev. Wade Hooper will officiate. Ms. Sutton will be laid to rest in Rainbow Memorial Gardens, 1440 W Grand Avenue, Gadsden, AL 35904.

Ms. Sutton graduated in 1966 with her Bachelors of Science in sociology and psychology from William Carey College in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. In 1969 she graduated with her Masters in social work from Louisiana State University. In 1980 she completed a VA social work administrative course at the James A. Haley Medical Center in Tampa, Florida. Ms. Sutton worked for the Alabama Department of Human Services in Calhoun County where she was a caseworker and a supervisor. She was a part-time Sociology Instructor at Jacksonville State University, worked at the department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and was a team leader for multi-disciplinary community-based mental teams. She was a member of Rainbow Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her niece, Sarah Ponder.

The family will receive friends for visitation prior to the service Sunday, March 10, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the church.
