Lavada H Deal

Funeral services will be at 12:30 pm Friday, December 18, 2015 at Collier-Butler Funeral Home for Lavada H. Deal, 93, of Gadsden, who went to be with her Lord, Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at Northside Healthcare. Dr. Craig Carlisle will officiate.

Mrs. Deal was born in Blount County on May 27, 1922. She graduated from Susan Moore High School. After graduating from business college, she worked as a social worker for the American Red Cross during World War II.

Mrs. Deal served on the Board of Registrars for Madison County (Huntsville, AL); was a charter member of the Willowbrook Garden Club (Huntsville) and an active member of Hillwood Baptist Church (Huntsville) and Twelfth Street Baptist Church, Gadsden.

She is survived by her daughter, Miriam A. Deal and sister, Nora Sue Glenn.

Mrs. Deal was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice E. Deal; son, Lee H. Deal; brother-in-law, Oscar Ray Glenn; sister-in-law, Retha Deal Wynot; parents, Sam and Carmen Holland; and in-laws, Clyde and Gretchen Deal.

Mrs. Deal leaves a legacy of infinite faith and love for her family and cherished friendships.

The family extends a heartfelt thanks to the staff of Northside Healthcare; and to Gentiva and Verline Hampton for their compassion, care and genuine friendships.

Memorial may be made to Twelfth Street Baptist Church Building Fund, Gadsden; Lee Deal and Friends Theatre Endowment, University of Alabama Huntsville; or your favorite charity.

The family will receive friends from 11:30am -12:30pm prior to the service.
