

L.C. “Carlton” Camp went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 9th 2015. Funeral services will be Monday, May 11th, 2015 at 12 p.m. at Collier-Butler Chapel. Rev. Larry Garrard, Dr. Shane Roberson, and Rev. Danny Box will officiate. Burial will be at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.
Carlton was born in Cullman County, Holly Pond, AL, June 21st, 1930. He was raised in Cullman Co., moved to Gadsden at an early age, and worked for Allis Chambers. He also worked at Supermarket Design at the time of his retirement. Carlton was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, he was a great outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, and was a member of the Noccalula Hunting Club.
He was preceded in death by parents, Buford and Etta Camp; first wife, Myra Jean; daughter, Rebecca “Becky” Thompson; father in law, Alton Sanders; one sister; and one brother.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Margie B. Camp; granddaughter, Brooke (Josh) McNew, of Indiana; grandson, Lee Thompson, of Cummings GA; stepchildren, Faye (Robbie) Roberson, Kaye (Larry) Garrard, Pam (Johnny) Cannady, of GA, William T. (Betsy) Coplin Jr., of Demopolis; son in law, Cary Thompson, of Cullman.
Pallbearers will be Cary Thompson, Johnny Cannady, Mike Camp, Gary Odum, Charles Duckett, Josh McNew, and Lance Roberson.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Calvin Bishop, Robbie Roberson, Joyce Howell, Danny Box, all grandsons, and Lookout Mt. Volunteer Fire Dept.
Margie and the family wish to thank Glenda and Steve Ashley and staff of Mountain Cove Assisted Living, Gadsden Healthcare and his special nurse Francine for their loving care.
