Lee Euclid Dye Sr.

Funeral Services for Mr. Lee Euclid Dye, Sr. 85, of Gadsden will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, June 7, 2021 at Collier- Butler Chapel. Jason Talton and Harry Parker officiating with burial to follow at Rainbow Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday evening, June 6, 2021 at the funeral home, and prior to the service on Monday at 11:00 a.m.

Lee was born on August 18, 1935 and was a lifelong resident of Gadsden. Lee was a graduate of Emma Samson High School class of 1953, and a member of Walnut Park Baptist Church. Lee spent his life serving others and his community. Lee was a member of Gadsden Fire Department for 40 years serving as Assistant Chief at time of his retirement in 2003; Lee was a perfectionist at his masonry work and the detail and beauty of his work is memorialized in office buildings and homes throughout Gadsden.

He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed his free time with his family, on the lake or creek bank, and watching the Crimson Tide ROLL on Fall Saturday afternoons. Most of all he was proud of his family and granddaughter, Hanna. Lee was the husband of Peggy J. Dye for 53 years.

Lee was preceded in death by his cherished wife; Peggy Joyce Dye, parents, Clarence Lee Dye and Nannie Mae Dye, sister; Louise Dye Ehl.

Left to cherish his memories his son, Lee E. Dye, Jr.; daughter, Lana Joyce Dye; granddaughter, Hanna Joyce Dye Hudson; brother in law, James David Townson; niece, Teresa Ehl Epperson; special family member, Jamie Holladay; and numerous cousins and nieces.

Lee was blessed with an extended family of care givers and he thought of each one of them as family; Alicia “Hattie” Hatmaker, Elizabeth “Beth” Goll, Sam Brown Entrekin, Amanda Brooks Bailey, Eva “Tootsie” Rogers, Tammy Parker, Sambriela Smith, and Susan Hyde.

Gadsden Fire Department will honor Lee with Honor Guard and serve as Pallbearers.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all team members and volunteers of Manna, Gadsde, He enjoyed their visits on a frequent basis, and Kindred Hospice and staff. Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to Hemochromatosis Research, (National Organization for Rare Disorders )
