Lewana Burgess

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 31, 2014 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Lewana Burgess, 57, of Southside, who passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2014. Rev. Joey Jones will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.

Mrs. Burgess was an employee of Alabama Power.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Randall and Frances Tidmore; and nephew, Patrick Tidmore.

She is survived by her husband, Steve Burgess; children, Joshua (Catherine) McBurnett, and Megan (Micah) Peckham; grandchildren, Andrew and Greenlee McBurnett, and Gracie and Cooper Peckham. She is also survived by her siblings, Toby “Butch” (Betty) Tidmore and Charlene (Mike) Arthur.

Pallbearers will be Terry Boozer, Bill Jones, Brett Wren, Beau Burgess, John Tidmore, Beau Arthur, Mike Arthur, Jerry Sewell, David Burgess, and Rick Burgess.

Special thanks to Dr. Market and nurses; and nurses, Jennifer Plaisance and Tina Simons at UAB.

Mrs. Burgess was selfless, loving and caring. She was the best mother, and grandmother anyone could ask for.

The family will accept friends from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Friday prior to the service.
