Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Collier-Butler Funeral Home for Loretta Y. Mitchell, age 75 of Oneonta, AL, formerly of Gadsden, who passed away Sunday, August 27, 2023. Visitation will precede the service beginning at 12:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest at Williams-Southside Memorial Park.
Mrs. Mitchell was a native of Etowah County. She was an avid Auburn fan and was very proud of her Cherokee Indian Heritage. She was a wonderful singer and a great story teller. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family.
Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis F. Mitchell, Sr.; parents, Loyal T. and Mabel Yates; sister, Carol Gross; and brothers, Jerry Yates and Randy Yates.
Survivors include her daughter, Michelle Colley; son, Dennis F. (Rhonda) Mitchell, II; grandchildren, Luke Mitchell and Brody Mitchell; great granddaughter, Rose Mitchell; brother, Michael (Renee) Yates; sister, Annette Mooney; chosen daughter, Kristi (John) Dorris and several nieces and nephews.
Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
