

Louise Ridens, 83, of Gadsden, formerly of Rockport Indiana died on September 11, 2014 at her beloved son’s home. She was an elementary school lunchroom manager, a member of St. James Catholic Church, a loving mother, and the best grandmother any child could wish for. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, reading romance novels, playing card, line dancing, and going to the movies. Her husband of 40 years, Lew Ridens, Jr. died in 1989.
Survivors include her only child, Michael (Lori) Ridens. Her four grandchildren, Carmen (Michael) McKiven, Andrea Goodwin, Rosa Beth Strong, and Brian (Jennie) Ridens all of Gadsden. She had eleven great-grandchildren, Todd McKiven, Jacob McKiven, Trinity McKiven, Shayna Ashely, Haley Goodwin, Emma Strong, Greggory Ridens, Tyler Ridens, Levi Ridens, Emleigh Ridens, and Derrick Barnes.
She had nine siblings, Ernest Robinson Jr., deceased of Newtonville, IN, Walter Robinson and David Robinson both of Rockport, IN, Allen Robinson of Houston, TX, James Robinson of Morena Valley, CA, Daniel Robinson, deceased of Rockport IN, Loraine Snyder of Seffner, FL, Mary Ester Meredith of Evansville, IN, and Veva Stepro of Conroe, TX. She has a host of nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 14, 2014 at Collier-Butler Chapel in Gadsden, AL. Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Burial will be at Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery in Southside. Rev. Tammy H. Jackson will officiate. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.
