

Funeral services honoring the life of Loyce Fuhrman McLendon, age 83, will be held Sunday, June 6, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at Collier-Butler Funeral Home. Mrs. McClendon passed away on June 4, 2010, after a brief illness. The Rev. Bill Drummons, Rev. Lauil Thompson, Rev. David Denson and Rev. Larry Fuhrman will officiate. Services entrusted to the care of Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services.
Mrs. McLendon was born and raised on her parent’s dairy farm in Southside, Alabama. She graduated from Southside High School and Southside is where she married her husband and raised her four children. She was a life-long member of Southside Baptist Church and enjoyed being a part of Southside Senior Citizen Club. She always made life interesting and created endless memories for her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Boyd McLendon; her parents, George and Lizzie Fuhrman; brothers, Paul, Eugene and Burgess Fuhrman; her sisters, Lucille Broders, Gladys Vinson, Eulala Harris and Annie Ruth Snyder.
She is survived by her son, Dennis McLendon (Ritzi); her daughters, Janice (John) Hatley, Barbara Boyd and Joan (Greg) Bradberry; grandchildren, Chris Boyd, Jennifer (Wade) Lowman, Kevin (Kendra) Boyd, Jason (Kelli) Hatley and Lauren Bradberry; step-grandchildren, BreAnne Clowdus and Brian Clowdus; great grandchildren, Kaci Boyd, Avery Hatley and Lyla Hatley; step great grandchildren, Kourtney Mayo, Lexon Mayo, Vivanne, Dashal and Shepherd Clowdus; sister, Kathryn (Price) Patterson; brother-in-law, Ralph Synder; and sisters-in-law, Belle Fuhrman and Juanita McClendon.
Pallbearers will be Greg Bradberry, Chris Boyd, Kevin Boyd, Jason Hatley, John Hatley, Wade Lowman and Pete Howard.
Honorary pallbearers will be the ladies of Rose Sunday School Class, Southside Baptist Church.
The family expresses their appreciation to the staff of 9th Floor South of Gadsden Regional Medical Center and the 500 Hall of Gadsden Health and Rehab Center for their loving care extended to their mother.
The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Collier-Butler Funeral Home.
