Lucy V Dennis

Lucy Woodard Dennis passed away Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at the age of 87 years. A private graveside service for the family will be Thursday, July 1st at Pine Hill Memorial Park in Talladega, AL. Arrangements have been handled by Collier-Butler Funeral Home. Rev. Don Young will officiate the service. Lucy was born on August 22, 1933, in Lawrence County, one of seven children born to Amanda and William Woodard (Magnolia). She became a Christian at the age of 13 and was a member of the Southern Baptist faith. Lucy was a faithful member of Twelfth Street Baptist Church since 1980. Lucy always put others before herself and will always be remembered for her amazing faith and love for the Lord. Her greatest joy in life was being "Nanny." There was nothing she would not do for her grandchildren and great children. What she treasured most was simply spending time with her family. Ms. Dennis was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Art Dennis. She is survived by her brother Bobby Woodard (Joyce), daughters Keela Kelley (Rickey) and Kim Smith, grandchildren Andrew Smith (Julie), Alan Smith (Amber), Kaci Hall (Philip) and Keri Kelley, and great grandchildren Camryn Smith, Brandon Smith, Jessica Smith, Kyle Smith, Kelsey Smith, Wesley Hall, Shepherd Hall, Banks Hall and Lucy Hall. A heartfelt thanks to Saratha Grigsby and all the friends and family who helped us through this difficult journey. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Twelfth Street Baptist Church.
