Mabel Christine (Chris) Foster passed away Peacefully on Friday, January 21, 2022. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at 2:00, with Visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 at Collier Butler Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow at Rainbow Memorial Gardens with Collier-Butler Home & Cremation Services in charge.
Chris was born in Altoona, Alabama to Clarence and Susie Hunter, but had resided in Gadsden, Alabama for most of her life. She had a Beautiful voice and was the Soloist for many years at Grace Baptist Church, sang in the choir at 12th. Street Baptist and even sang on the radio as a teenager. Chris taught Sign Language in Gadsden for over 40 years. She taught private lessons, at numerous churches and at Gadsden State. She loved flowers and her yard. She took such So Much Pride in her yard, that she won the areas Beautification Award several times. Chris loved shopping, especially for fashion, she always looked Beautiful and dressed to the Nine. When asked, Chris always said her Greatest Accomplishment were her seven children and was a Devoted Christian.
Chris was married to Billy Ray Foster for 61 years, which she leaves behind. She was preceded in death by her Daughter, Sandy Stancil Self, Son, Ronnie D. Stancil, Mother, Father, Brothers, Frank, Ray and Billy Hunter, Sisters, Mary and Deborah, also, Grandsons Bart and Brian Stancil.
Chris is survived by her husband, Billy Ray Foster; Children, Bill Stancil, Susan Kruse, Eva Stancil Murray (Chris), Priscie Mitchell and Nancy Ulrich (Phillip) and Son-in-Law Mike Self Sr.; 14 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great, Great Grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Ulrich, Mike Self Sr., Mike Self Jr., Skye Bolt and Chris Murray.
