
Mable June Huie Hoge, 86, of Rainbow City, AL died Thursday, November 17, 2011. Funeral services will be 12:30 Saturday, November 19 at Collier-Butler Chapel. Burial will follow at Rainbow Memorial Gardens. Pastor Jacky Duncan will officiate with Collier-Butler Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Hoge was born in Morgan County, AL to the late John Lester and Lelia Kirby Huie. She lived almost her entire life in Etowah County. She married Vaughn Hoge, May 6, 1944; they were married for 55 years. She was a member of McIntyre Baptist Church.
Mrs. Hoge was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a daughter, Jeanne Allen; brother-in-law, Lewis Abernathy; sisters-in-law, Jo Ann Huie and Bernice Huie; and two grandsons, Gregg Allen and John L. Smith, III.
Survivors include her children, James “Butch” Hoge, Rainbow City; Barbara (John) Smith, Danville; Jannice (Steve) Osborne, Rainbow City; son-on-law, Chuck Allen, Moody, TX; seven grandchildren, Alex, Mark, & Craig Hoge, Jason Smith, Heather (Jeff) Lange, Stephanie Franklin, and Collin Allen; fourteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Jake Huie, Bill Huie, Jim (Margaret) Huie; one sister, Gladys A. (Charles) Tolleson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, great-grandsons, nephews, Jerry Conner, Charles Kelley, Aubrey Rose, and Larry Rose.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 until 12:30 on Saturday at the funeral home.
