
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at Collier-Butler Chapel for Margaret Marie "Polly" Gilbert, 93, of Gadsden, who passed away Sunday, July 27, 2014. Bro. Bobby Bryant will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.
Mrs. Gilbert graduated from Emma Sansom High School. She was a member of Dwight Baptist Church and was attending Lookout Avenue Baptist Church as her health permitted. She was a Half Century member of the Alabama City Eastern Star. She loved attending church and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Claudia (Player) Coley; husband, James C. "Cantrel" Gilbert; brothers, Arnold (Hazel) Coley, Jack (Evelyn) Coley, Jim Coley and Bobby Ray "Buck" Coley; sisters, Francis Coley (Robert) Lee, Louise Coley (Jack) Brown and Earline Coley (Joe) Sweney; nephews, Bobby Coley, Horace "Sonny" Coley and Charles M. "Charlie" Lee; and sister-in-law, Loretta Kelly Coley.
She is survived by her brother, Larry Coley; caregivers, Norma and Horace Warren; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Hill, Jerry Rogers, Jason Rogers, Sherman Guyton, Connie Entrekin, Jerry Entrekin, Harold Milner and Joe Phillips.
Honorary pallbearers will be Leonard Bullock, Hector Contreras and Charles Wilkerson.
