Margaret R. Jones

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Margaret Ross Jones, who went to heaven on Sunday, May 1, 2011. Rev. Van Lockridge and Rev. James Long will officiate. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Service directing.

Mrs. Jones was a life long resident of Gadsden. She was a charter member of MeadowBrook Baptist Church where she was a faithful childrens Sunday School teacher, choir member and nursery worker. She was a beloved wife, mother and faithful friend who loved and ministered to so many people and family members. She was retired from the Gadsden Public Library.

Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 59 years, Floyd Carl Jones.

She is survived by her daughter Margaret (Bryan) McDaniel; grandson Jonathan McDaniel ; a great number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; life-long friend Marian Lancaster and sitters Kim Jones and Jennifer Moore.

Pallbearers are John Lancaster, Ben Lancaster, Michael Bozeman, Carson Pearce, Laney Boman, Robert Darnell, Alan Jones and Josh Berkey. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of MeadowBrook Baptist Church. Special thanks to Dr. John Wilborn and the 6th floor nurses and staff of Gadsden Regional Medical Center.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Music Department of Westbrook Christian School or MeadowBrook Baptist's Open Hands Ministry of Etowah County.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 3, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
