Kay was raised in East Gadsden. Our mother was a very caring and loving person who loved to talk on the phone and never met a stranger. One of her favorite sayings was “A stranger is just a friend I haven’t met.” She was a born again Christian who loved the Lord with all of her heart. She was a faithful member of East Walnut Baptist Church. Kay and her first husband, Hyman Paul, had three children, Cheryl, Sonny, and Robby. Her children and grandchildren meant the world to her, and they will miss her dearly.
Kay was preceded in death by her husband, Bert Amos; parents, Robert L. and Sylvia Robbins; and her sister, Gail Gray.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Chuck) Stith; her sons, Sonny (Sharon) Paul and Robby (Riki) Paul; grandchildren, Stephanie (Cary) Tucker, Brian Stith, Summer (Brian) Nelson, and Camden Paul; and great grandchildren, Hayden Tucker, Mallory Tucker, Bryson Tucker, and Saylor Nelson.
Pallbearers will be Sonny Paul, Robby Paul, Chuck Stith, Brian Stith, Cary Tucker, Hayden Tucker, Bryson Tucker, and Darren Tucker.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Robbins, Bobby Robbins, Tim Roden, and Phillip Franklin.
The family wishes to express a special thanks to Dr. Jordan Holder and Staff; staff on the 3rd floor PCU at Riverview: Craig Walker, Miles West, Tatyana Williams, and Geraldine Farris. Also to the special care givers at Northside Health Care East Wing: Karen Peterson, Tonya Cook, Melissa Archie, David Ellis, Demetrius Hamilton, Shokira Ledford, and all of the rest who provided her with excellent care.
