Funeral Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mary Maxine Elrod, 80, Gadsden who passed away Sunday, April 1, 2012. Pastors Van Lockridge Pastor Randy Gunter. Entombment will be at Rainbow Memorial Mausoleum. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Service Directing.

Maxine was a wonderful mother to her son. She loved spending her weekends going to the dirt track to watch racing and enjoyed cheering on Nascar driver Dale, Jr. Maxine worked for 43 years all around Etowah County delivering “The Birmingham News Post Herald” and “The Gadsden Times”.

She was preceded in death by her husband Clyde Elrod, Jr., mother and father, Dee and Connie Roberts and special nephew, Terry Elrod.

Survivors include her son, Randy (Dana) Elrod, granddaughter, Krystin (Mark) Gentry and chosen daughter, Cheryl Conklin.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the staff, nurses and caregivers of McGuffey Health Care Center along with the staff and nurses of Lawley Hospice.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. this evening at the funeral home.
