Mrs. Mary F. Gibbs

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 13, 2010 at Collier-Butler Funeral Chapel for Mrs. Mary F. Gibbs, age 75, of Gadsden, who passed away Monday, May 10, 2010. The Rev. Bruce Word will officiate with burial at Forrest Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral Home and Cremation Services directing.

Mrs. Gibbs was a lifelong resident of Etowah County. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Ladies Auxillary VFW.

She was preceded in death by her husband, O.R. “Snooks” Gibbs; mother, Mary Hatfield; father, Ben Handy; granddaughter, Misty Gibbs; sisters, Juanita Owens, Nell Vann; and brother, Booker Hatfield.

She is survived by her sons, Rick (Mylinda) Browning and Terry R. (Judy) Gibbs; daughter, Cheryl (Mike) McClellan; grandchildren, Terry Neal Gibbs and Chris Browning; great grandsons, Christopher Gibbs and Josh Green; sister-in-law, Eloise Gibbs; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

The family would like to express a special thanks to ICU Staff of Riverview Regional Medical Center.

Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Collier-Butler Funeral Home.
