

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mary Melba Latimer, 89, of Gadsden, who passed away Sunday, June 15, 2014. Dr. Tommy Ferguson will officiate. Burial will be at Forrest Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.
Ms. Latimer was a lifelong member of Goodyear Height Baptist Church (formerly Henry Street Baptist Church) where her father was a charter member. She was an active member of her Sunday School Class, Happy Hearts Ministry and church choir. She was a very dedicated Servant of the Lord. She retired from Puckett’s Wholesale.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ran Latimer and Annie Lou Willoughby Latimer; and 10 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her daughter, Jean (Bill) Murray; grandchildren, Rhonda (Brandon) Bryant, and Ryan (Kelly) Murray; great-grandchildren, Bailee and Brooklyn Bryant; sisters-in-law, Mary Latimer, and Ruby Latimer; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Puckett, Joe Morgan, Allen Champion, Lynn Paseur, Pete Beck, and Wayne Henley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to United Cerebral Palsy Center or your favorite charity.

The family will accept friends Thursday from 9:30-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
