Mary Faith Orr

Dr. Mary Faith Orr, age 90, died December 12, 2010. A private service will be held for immediate family with burial in the Cullman Public Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services directing.

Dr. Orr was a native of Alabama and graduated from the University of Alabama. She received graduate degrees (M.A., Ph.D.) from Vanderbilt University. After twenty-five years of teaching and research at Northwestern University Medical School, she retired as Associate Professor of Cell Biology and Anatomy emeritus in 1985 and returned to Birmingham. She was a member of Highlands United Methodist Church.

Preceding Dr. Orr in death were her parents, Plimer Talmadge and Vera Parsons Orr and brother, Plimer Talmadge Orr, Jr.

Survivors include sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Graham; nieces, Anne and Emily Graham and Janet Orr Worley; and nephews, Gary and Robert Orr.
