Mrs. Pruitt raised her family as a single mom, working nearly forty years at So-Sew Styles and Food Max. She retired atop the mountain where her family resides to this day. She was a member of Tabor Church of God and attended Cathedral of Praise. Mrs. Pruitt enjoyed spending time with her family and enjoyed her hobbies such as word search puzzles, flowers, and gardening. Her main hobby, however, was giving us advice, whether we asked for it or not, and reminding us always how much she “loved, loved, loved” us.
She was preceded in death by her son, Charlie Pruitt; grandson, Ricky E. Pruitt II; parents, Jimmy and Lula Mae Tucker; and brothers, Leon, Jim and Harry Tucker.
Mrs. Pruitt is survived by her sons, Rick (Teresa) Pruitt and Ronny (Donna) Pruitt; daughter, Wanda (Randy) Gilliland; Daughter-in-law, Patsy Latham; step-daughters, Verlene (Lanier) Cobb and Tricia (David) McBurnett; grandchildren, Sharlene (Tony) Mize, Ryan Pruitt, Jamie Pruitt, Jessica Pruitt (Ronnie Blake), Justin (Carol) Gilliland, Kayla (Chance) Alford, Andrew (Destinee) Pruitt, Jeff (Bonnie) Ragan, Laura (Tony) Goza, and Raleigh McBurnett; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Pruitt, Andrew Pruitt, Chance Alford, Blake Leath, Jake Leath and Brian Nelson.
Special thanks to Dr. Jaiswal; Dr. Castillo and staff; Amedisys Hospice: Kara, Miranda, Joy, Amanda, and Matt.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 13, 2016 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
