Funeral Service will be at 12:30 p.m., Monday, December 21, 2015 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mrs. Mary Frances Reeves Bates, 84, of Gadsden who died Friday, December 18, 2015 suddenly but peacefully. Rev. Roger Graham will officiate. Burial will be at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery, Guntersville, AL.

Mrs. Bates was native of Guntersville, AL and a longtime resident of Gadsden. She was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband; John Wesley Bates.
Mrs. Bates is survived by her children; Martha Ann Bates Powell and husband Ben, Birmingham and John Marvin Bates, Rainbow City; her grandchildren who called her Mama France; Elizabeth, Claire and Benjamin Powell, Todd and Tara Bates; sisters-in-law; Gwen Reeves, Gertrude Reeves and Sarah Bates; numerous nieces and nephews; special friend; Charles Baswell and family.
Family will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home Monday.
