Mary Lee Roberts

A visitation for Mary will be held Friday, December 30, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Collier-Butler Funeral Home, 824 Rainbow Drive, Gadsden, AL 35901, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. Andy Yarnell will officiate. Burial will follow at Rainbow Memorial Gardens.

She attained multiple graduate and post-graduate degrees in Special Education, Library Sciences, and Nursing. Her professional career centered on serving the educational and health needs of her community, including teaching and interpreting for deaf children and serving with the local branch of the March of Dimes. She was a school Librarian and Media Specialist and a home health and hospice RN. She had been active in community and civic activities including serving in the Altrusa Club of Gadsden and her daughters' school's PTA. She was often a soloist in the church choir and had a personal interest in interior design.

Survived by her daughters, Carolyn Marrs Lowery (Joe Lowery), and Dr. Rebecca Hardy (Ben Hardy); her grandchildren, Blake Marrs (Amber Marrs), Peyton Marrs, Maylee Marrs and Elyse (Lee) Marrs; her great-grandchildren, Landon Marrs and Delilah Marrs; her sister, Becky Armstrong (Whit Armstrong); and her former husband, Mike Roberts.
