Mrs. Jones was born in Parrish, Alabama on August 22, 1922. One of nine siblings, she was a devoted member of Cherry Street Baptist church for 26 years and exhibited compassion in visiting shut-ins. She retired as a nurse from St. Vincent's Hospital in Birmingham.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Della Burkett; father, Bascomb Burkett; her husband and several brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her sons, Robert (Joy) Long and Terry (Kimberly)Busenlehner; grandchildren, Patrick (Chrisi) Long, Heather (Matthew) Kadman, Allison (Brian) Therrien, and Bethany (Brandon) Yopp; great-grandchildren: Grace (Hayden), Abby, Carter, Jacob, Ryan, Kaileigh, John, Maeve, Hayes, and Mac; and brothers, Charles Burkett and James Burkett.
Pallbearers will be Michael Burkett, Matthew Kadman, Ryan Kadman, and Jacob Larson.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Maxine's memory may be made to Cherry Street Baptist Church, 520 Cleveland Ave. Attalla, AL 35954
