Mildred Berry

Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mildred Baswell Berry. Rev. Larry Garrard will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.

Mrs. Berry walked quietly from this life Sunday evening, May 18, 2014, at Mountain Cove Assisted Living, Gadsden. She was a delight to all who knew her and will be remember for being a woman whose value was "far above rubies". Her faith sustained her through her 96 years. She was a native of Gadsden, Alabama.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick Calvin Berry, Sr.

She is survived by her children, Patrick Calvin (Charlotte) Berry, Jr. of Atlanta, GA, JoAnn (Dan) Ray of Gadsden, AL, and Jimmie Sue (Peter) Hoekenga of Ft Worth, TX; grandchildren, Lana Marie Alsobrook, Patrick Calvin Berry III, Adam Daniel Ray, John Michael Ray, and Jacob Peter Hoekenga; 6 great grandchildren; and her sisters, Audra Burger and Margie Camp, both from Gadsden.

Pallbearers will be Adam Ray, Patrick Berry III, John Ray, Billy Coplin, Eddy Blythe, Steve Ashley, Cannon Alsobrook and Elwin Thomas.

Honorary Pallbearer will be Jacob Hoekenga.

The family will accept friends at the funeral home from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service.
