Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at
Turkeytown United Methodist Church Cemetery. Rev. Jeff Sauls will officiate.
Music will be provided by Violinist Cademon Garcia.
Nadine was born in Dekalb County, Alabama in 1934 but had resided in Etowah County for most of her life. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School, Ypsilanti, Michigan and of Jacksonville State University. Nadine served in the United States Army from 1952-1954 during the Korean War. She served in recruiting at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey. She was a recipient of the Sharp Shooter Award and the National Defense Service Medal.
Nadine was visiting Etowah County with her grandparents when she met her future husband Roy Glenn.
Her grandfather was a traveling preacher, he was holding a revival in the county.
Roy and Nadine married in 1953. Nadine was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She was employed as an office manager with Drs. Isbell and Hugh C. Nickson. She retired from the Lions Club Eye Clinic after many years of employment.
Nadine was a wonderful cook. She loved camping, reading, and working in her vegetable garden.
She enjoyed listening to Elvis, Tom Jones, and Mario Lanza.
Nadine was a huge fan of the Atlanta Braves, and Alabama football.
Many will remember Nadine for her very giving nature and loving heart.
Nadine was known for being very fashionable. She took great pride in caring for her family but also being such a generous caregiver to others in the community that were in need.
Nadine will be missed by all that knew her.
Nadine is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Roy Auston Glenn; parents, Russell and Dovie Griggs; parents-in-laws, Harvey L. and Archie E. Glenn; brothers, Ray Griggs, Roy Griggs, Wayne Griggs,
Dale Griggs, David Griggs, and sister, Diane Griggs; brother-in-law, Leonard (Elizabeth) Glenn.
Nadine is survived by her daughters, Deborah Nadine (Terry) Stowe, Teresa Ann (Loyd) Fleming,
Patricia Marie “Patty” Glenn, Jacqueline (Tim) Kisor; and son, Marvin Roy Glenn.
Grandchildren, Ramona Nadine (Kevin Belisle) Daniel, Gregory (Zana Vaughn) Martinez,
Courtney (Jordan) Statum, Kalan Stowe, Chris (Ciara) Fleming, Rachel (Jesse) Pruitt, Russell (Danielle) Fleming, Taylor (Joseph) Anderson, Titus Snyder, Judson Snyder, Auston (Adriane) Burgess,
Jesse (Bradee) Ryals Snyder, Haden (Robyn) Ryals, Anna Ryals; great-grandchildren, Colin and Colton Peterson, Scarlet Nadine and Sadie Carolyn Statum, Harlyn Vaughn, Rylan, Zander, Credyn and Axel Fleming, Brantley, Corbin, and Nolen Pruitt, Isabella and Michael Burgess, Ivey Raeann Snyder.
Sisters, Dolly Griggs Willis, Marie Griggs Trammell, Belinda Griggs Martinez;
sisters-in-law, Sybil Glenn Money, Deana Glenn Traylor, Trudy (James) Glenn.
Several nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren.
