Millie S Garmon

June 30, 1939November 18, 2021

Millie Singleton Garmon, born June 30, 1939, went to her eternal home November 18, 2021. Funeral Service will be at 2pm on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at Collier Butler Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 12 until 2pm, prior to the service. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier Butler Funeral Home will be directing the arrangements. Millie was a lover of Jesus Christ and lived her life rejoicing in the Lord every day. She was also a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She leaves behind a host of family and friends who she loved dearly until her last breath on earth. Millie enjoyed several careers during her life including years in real estate and home health nursing. She had a servant’s heart and spent many years volunteering and organizing meals for homeless ministries. She was a very strong, loving and giving person who believed there was something to be joyful about every day no matter the circumstances. She will be missed, but only for a while. As she said before she left this earth for heaven, “This is not goodbye, it’s see you later.” Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.collier-butler.com for the Garmon family.

I was so surprised to hear about our friend, Millie. She called and encouraged me during Gary’s illness and death. I never dreamed she would be joining him and others in heaven so soon. We have such wonderful memories of Millie, her talents, her laughs and her encouraging words. To her family, we were blessed to know her. My prayers for all of you. My memories of Millie date back to GHS and our band. She was without a doubt one of the most gentle and sweetest ladies I remember from that period. Heaven has gained a true angel. All that had the priviledge of knowing Millie will
miss her and were blessed to have known her. Sincerest condolences to her family.
