

Frances Nadine Willborn, 85, Gadsden, went to be with the Lord Tuesday,
Sept. 28, 2010. A native of Jackson County and longtime resident of Etowah
County, she was the much-loved mother of three children and, for 58 years,
the faithful and loving wife of the late Rev. L.C. Willborn. In addition to
her labors as a homemaker and mother, she worked for several years in
healthcare and childcare (including Tennessee Baptist Children¹s Homes
(Chattanooga and Franklin) and The Bridge (Gadsden)) before retiring in
2000. A member of First Baptist Church, Gadsden, she enjoyed teaching the
Agape Sunday School class for several years.
The family will be receiving friends at Collier-Butler Funeral Home at 9:30
a.m. with the funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel. The
Rev. Larry Fuhrman will officiate, with Mr. Lauil Thompson assisting. Mr.
Bill Drummons and Mrs. Sharron Yancy will be providing music. Burial will be
in Pilgrim¹s Rest Cemetery.
Survivors include Becky and James Oglesby, Southside, C.N. (Nick) and Carol
Willborn, Oak Ridge, Tenn., Chuck and Carol Willborn, Oakdale, Tenn.;
grandchildren, Angie (Jay) Morgan, Cyndi (Chris) Duke, Susan (Doug) Jenkins,
Toni (Jason) Lane, Jessica (Jimmy) Ledbetter, Sophie Willborn, Cas Willborn
and Iain Willborn; great-grandchildren, Katie and Sarah Morgan, Savannah
Duke, James and Isabella Nadine Jenkins and Jace Lane; great-great-grandson,
Jackson Morgan.
Pallbearers will be Chris Duke, Doug Jenkins, James Jenkins, Jay Morgan,
Jason Lane, Jimmy Ledbetter, Eli Smith, Cas Willborn and Iain Willborn.
The family extends a special thanks to Lauil Thompson for his weekly visits
and to others who visited their mother during her time in healtcare.
Additionally, the family expresses their sincere thanks to the staff,
present and past, of Attalla Healthcare for their kind and sacrificial care
for their mother and grandmother.
