Nancy Carolyn Copeland

Nancy Little Copeland, 96, passed away on December 22, 2020. A private, family, graveside service is scheduled for 2pm on Sunday, December 27, 2020. Reverend Matt Alexander will be officiating. Collier Butler Funeral Home directing.

Nancy was the only child of Ernest Clifford Little and Annie Bramlett Little. She graduated from Gadsden High School, class of 1941, and lived her entire life in Gadsden except for college and the war years. She was a life long member of First Baptist Church and was pianist and teacher in the children’s department for several years. She was a member of the women’s club, Altrusa Club, Antiquarian Society, and several other civic clubs. Nancy was an interior designer with the Decorator Store and Nancy’s Antiques, which she and her husband Joe D. Copeland, owned and operated on 3rd Street for almost 50 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son E. Cliff Copeland, and her beloved husband of almost 75 years Joe D. Copeland.

She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Copeland Maddox and her husband Carl V. Maddox Huntsville, AL; daughter-in-law Donna R. Copeland, Arab AL; grandchildren: Seth R. Copeland (Deanne) Jonesboro, AR, Jennifer A. Maddox Detroit, MI, Anna R. Copeland Mobile, AL, Michael J. Maddox Huntsville, AL; great grandchildren: Anaca Copeland, Breckin Copeland, Cadence Copeland, and Daxton Copeland Jonesboro, AR.

Memorial may be made to First Baptist Church, Gadsden, or the Big Oak Ranch.
