

Nancy Kircus Fleming was born January 6, 1944 in Cedar Bluff, Alabama to Nellie and Marvin Bishop, the fourth of five children. In 1961, Nancy married Walter Thomas Kircus beginning a 25 year adventure resulting in three sons, four grandchildren and one great grandchild. She married Bob Fleming in 1992 also celebrating 25 years together. Nancy was a self-taught floral designer working under Nell Chandler at the House of Flowers in Alabama City. Later, she and Walter operated their own florist for many years known as The Bo-K (K for Kircus!). She also worked in later years at Ideal Florist in downtown Gadsden. Nancy loved her work in the floral business making many friends through the years. However, her retirement was all about her grandchildren who she loved more than life. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, James and Quinten and her sisters, Freida and Alice. Her survivors include her three sons; Martin (Andy) of Birmingham, Todd (Jade) and Wade of Gadsden and her grandchildren, Blaike, Paiden, Gavin and Grae. She is lastly survived by her adored great-grandchild, Korbyn as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life for Nancy will be held this Friday, May 19 at Collier-Butler Funeral Home in Gadsden beginning with a visitation at 10 am and the celebration at 11 am in the chapel. A mausoleum service will follow at Rainbow Memorial Gardens.
